Make a Splash: Water in Skincare

Hey Beauties!

It’s Cassi here again and today I want to highlight a skincare ingredient that is severely underrated – water!

Water is of course essential for life, so why wouldn’t it be essential for your skincare? Let’s take a look at some reasons why H2O is so amazing for your skin.

Obviously water is a great moisturizer for your skin. Oils are great for locking in moisture, but they do little in the way of actually hydrating your skin. That’s where water comes in! Some products, like our Scinic Aqua All-In-One Ampoule, even contain mineral-enriched glacial water to deliver an extra nourishing boost.

Water can also be crucial for formulating your favorite skincare products. Physically, it can help thin the consistency of certain creams and lotions. This is great for people (like me!) whose skin can’t handle thick, smothering products. Moisturizers made with water tend to be much lighter and easier for my skin to absorb without sacrificing the effectiveness of the other ingredients. Check out LadyKin’s Vanpir Dark Repairing Water Mask – it’s a fave among our Beauties [and it’s 25% off for a limited time 😉 ].

Water also  helps certain ingredients absorb into deeper layers of your skin to increase effectiveness of the product as a whole. This Elizavecca Milky Piggy Water Coating Aqua Brightening Mask contains collagen and baobab extract – both have awesome anti-aging properties. They are both easily absorbed by skin with the help of water!

Happy Friday, Beauties! Have a safe and awesome weekend.

xoxo,

Cassi
